New home project coming to booming West Dallas neighborhood
The developer of West Dallas’ popular Sylvan|Thirty mixed-use project is bringing more housing to the neighborhood.
Oaxaca Interests has started construction on a townhouse community west of downtown Dallas. The 16-unit project is two blocks from Sylvan|Thirty at 707 W. Commerce St. The 3-story modern homes were designed by architect Far + Dang with metal and wood exteriors.
“Historically, West Dallas has been an underserved area in both retail and residential,” Brent Jackson, president of Oaxaca Interests, said in a statement. “With several land holdings, Oaxaca Interests is in a solid position to keep filling these community needs and drive momentum forward.”
The townhouses will start at $324,000 and range in size from 1,380 to 1,510 square feet. The project will include a community pool and guest parking on the half-acre site. Hocker Design Group is the landscape designer.
The Collective Residential is marketing the homes, which are being constructed by Crimson Builders. Oaxaca’s Sylvan|Thirty project is at Sylvan and Interstate 30 and was the first mixed-use development in West Dallas. It includes a retail, restaurant complex and 201 apartments.
Last summer, Los Angeles-based Arc Capital Partners purchased the apartment portion of the development.
Oaxaca Interests is redeveloping an old warehouse next door on Fort Worth Avenue into a dining and retail venue. Oaxaca also plans to build three new retail buildings that will add more than 10,000 square feet across Sylvan Avenue in front of the Chase Bank Building.
